I got Visitors for 6 days - STAFF BLOG ☆MARY☆ (メアリー）

Last week, 8th of October, I fetched my friends from the airport. Actually they’re my aunt’s friends but since “treating your friends as your family” is one of our culture. It seems that we have known each other for so long.

According to them, they got their tickets for free from their office(raffle gift), and took a 6-day vacation leave. They contacted me to search for cheap accomodation but then I offered my room for them to stay and to save money.

They were too lucky that I had my restday last 8th, I managed to picked them up from the airport and be with them on their 1st day to visit Tokyo Tower, Odaiba, and Shibuya.

Being with them made me realized how I missed my friends in my own country, doing crazy things, eating delicious foods and sharing a lot of “anything under the sun” stories.

On their 2nd day here in Tokyo, I wasn’t able to be with them for the reason that I have work that day but I already taught them how to use “GOOGLE MAP APPLICATION” that will lead them to the places where they want to go. (Actually, that is the same application that I am using until now.)

Their 2nd and 3rd day here were spent at Disney Resort that is known as the happiest place on earth. 4th day was spent at Ueno Park, Asakusa, and again... Shibuya to shop at UNIQLO and Mega Don Quijote to buy Souvenirs for their friends and family. I did the planning and wrote their itinerary for that day including what train line to use and what station to get off. Their 5th day (yesterday, October 12) was spent at Shizuoka because they want to see the very well known MT.FUJI. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and they didn’t see anything but CLOUDS. haha! They also went to GOTEMBA, an outlet store and shop for some souvenirs for themselves. Yesterday was their last night so we decided to eat at the famous ICHIRAN, a noodle shop where you can taste the noodles with pork belly and bones’ flavor soup. In addition, ICHIRAN is the only place here where you can eat at the counter with a partition. So what’s with it ? haha! Let me secretly tell you the benefit of that. “It’s just that YOU CAN EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT WITHOUT ANYONE NOTICING YOU.” sounds great, right? haha! Kidding aside, that kind of shop is only in Japan not unless other country will adapt the same marketing strategy of ICHIRAN RAMEN. After eating ramen, we went to Don Quijote at Asakusa, and I was shocked to know that it’s 24hours store. Well, they bought cosmetics and I also bought one! A Lip Tint that was made in Korea. On our way going to the Station, we saw a TAIYAKI SHOP (a fish-shaped pancake) and bought all 3 flavors - the popular and original red beans, sweet potato and the seasonal chestnut flavor. We shared and tasted all. Our verdict? haha! All the 3 flavors of TAIYAKI were delicious!!! After that, we went home and packed all their stuffs until 1am.

On their 6th day (today, October 13), I cooked pork steak for our breakfast, and my mother also cooked Sinigang last night. We ate together and prepare our things for today. We left the house at 9:00am, and bought apples and pears ‘cause they said that they want to bring apples and pears to their home. We arrived at the airport at around 11:00am and proceed to the check in counter. And here comes the saddest part, at the DEPARTURE GATE, when I can no longer be with them until their last minute here in Tokyo. We hugged each other tightly, saying goodbye and wishing for a safe flight. Indeed, goodbyes are the hardest part of everything.

To sum it all up, I was really happy that they enjoyed their stay here in Tokyo. Honestly, a 6-day tour will never be enough. Japan got a lot of things to offer especially to foreigners like me. There are lots of stuffs that will definitely amaze you and lots of places that will surely make you come back here for another adventure.
